Certificate of Origin
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has phytosanitary requirements for the importation of wheat, triticale, rye, and barley grain. These grains may be imported into Canada under a special pilot program for Montana origin grain. Under this program the Canadian importer must apply for an import permit from CFIA. Once the importer provides an import permit, the Montana exporter may apply to the Montana Department of Agriculture (MDA) to be enrolled in a compliance agreement program whereby MDA will provide certificates of origin which can be used in place of a phytosanitary certificate. For more information, please contact MDA using the information below.
